Once you register with Why Ora, our Kaiarahi team can help you to explore and identify your aspirations and help you get started on your career path.
We are here to support you – it doesn’t matter whether you have no idea at all what you want to do and are feeling confused – or you know exactly what you want to do, and just need some help to get there.
We can work with you throughout your study and career journey – our Kaiarahi team will stay in touch with you, until you no longer need support.
Once you register with us, we get to know you (Whakawhanaungatanga) to find out more about your aspirations: what interests you, what your hopes and dreams are, and what support you might need to get there.
We may arrange a meeting with you kanohi ki te kanohi – face to face, telephone or online (you are welcome to bring a support person along).
We will find out where you are at, what you want to do next, help you set some goals and develop a career plan, and help you stay on track.
We have developed a model of Manaaki Oranga (pastoral care) drawing on learnings from Te Ao Māori, Tikanga and Mātauranga, inspired by models from education and health such as Te Whare Tapa Wha and Te Wheke.
We can also help you identify funding and resources. To learn more about funding visit these pages (Link)
