Why Ora has strong networks and relationships with other organisations who, like us, are passionate about supporting Māori rangatahi and whānau to thrive!
Our Kaiārahi team are here to help you explore your aspirations and develop the confidence to make connections to help you on your way with education, training and career opportunities. Once you register with us, we can begin to help you make useful connections as part of our Manaaki Oranga (pastoral support). To learn more see our Manaakitanga pages.
Firstly, we get to know you (Whakawhanaungatanga) – we will arrange a meeting or call with you (kanohi ki te kanohi – face to face, phone or online) to find out more about you, what your hopes and dreams are, and what support you might need (you are welcome to bring a support person along).
Next, we work with you to identify your interests and goals. Depending on what your interests are we might help you directly or we might introduce to others who can help you.
If you are interested in health and education careers, we may work with you directly to develop a career plan. If you are interested in other careers, we can help connect you to organisations who can help you on your journey.
We will walk alongside you, introduce you and support you to connect.
On the next pages you will find a list of connections we work with to assist whānau to explore their aspirations, find the information and support they need, and embark on study, training and career journeys.
